Someone emailed me to blog a little about how Mumble got started. Well, he actually wasn't the first character I came up with in the story. The bad guy - Footoo - was first. I started in watercolor but decided I liked the control of colored pencil better. Each piece took many, many hours (actually about a week or two) to complete. The whole book though from concept to PDF probably took about ten years of my life. The first sketches I did in a laundromat watching my clothes spin around. Thats where I met my wife so the book process slowed a bit but continued. Three years later when we had my daughter the book though almost complete stopped completelywhile we cared for our angel. It wasn't until years later that I completed it. I am hoping that a publisher will find this page but in the meantime I hoped others can enjoy my art.
Below I have Page 1 from my book. As I said previously, I have converted it into PDF form. Email me at jscottart@yahoo.com if you are interested in finding out how to get a PDF of Mumble Grumbles to share with your child.

Mumble Grumbles
Welcome to my art gallery! These are pieces from a children's book that I am interested in getting published. The book is titled Mumble Grumbles. It is about a little guy named Mr. Mumble who is on a quest to retrieve the stollen hats of his countrymen. He must confront the evil wizard Footoo to save the day. The book is presently in PDF form - ready and waiting to go to print!
